WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY NEWS

CONFERENCES RESCHEDULED

All conferences originally scheduled on November 12 will now be held on November 14 at the same time.

GRADE 2 PUMPKIN ACTIVITY

On October 30, Ms. Young’s 2nd Grade class at Washington Elementary used pumpkins in the classroom to learn! Ms. Young supplied her students with giant pumpkins to help expand their young minds. The students weighed, measured, and yes, carved each pumpkin. The students were engaged, having fun and more importantly, learning. At the end of this activity, Ms. Young had her students describe the pumpkins using their five senses. This type of hands on learning is just a small glance of the hard work and dedication our students and staff pour into the Logan Elm School District.

VETERANS DAY RECOGNITION

Washington Elementary will be observing Veteran's Day with a special assembly on Friday, November 8 at 10AM. Students in Kindergarten are encouraged to wear blue shirts. Grades 1 and 3 should wear white shirts while Grades 2 and 4 should wear red shirts. Family members and friends who are Veterans or active in the military are invited to join us on the 8th.

We will display a "Wall of Honor" recognizing military members past and present who have a connection to Washington Elementary. If you would like to honor someone, please complete and decorate the star
(click here) and return it to school by Wednesday, November 6. Feel free to make copies if you would like to honor more that one Veteran or active duty member.
