We are so proud of these students for the kindness and leadership they have shown throughout the month. Way to represent Logan Elm and start the school year off strong!

Learn a little more about Joan, her role at Logan Elm, and what she enjoys most about working with our students!

Our students have been having so much fun browsing the shelves, finding new books to read and picking out a few favorites to take home! While waiting to shop, students also got creative and made their own bookmarks.

Get to know Jaelyn and Nevalene a little better below and hear what they’re most excited about as they represent Logan Elm and take part in this year’s Pumpkin Show festivities!

It was an egg-cellent day in 8th grade!
Our 8th graders spent the week planning, designing and testing their ideas for today’s egg drop activity. Working in groups, students first wrote down what they thought would work, then combined their ideas to create a design that would protect their egg during the drop. They got creative with parachutes, straws, paper, rubber bands and plenty of other materials as they put their designs to the test!
A fun day of teamwork, creativity, problem-solving and, of course, a few cracked eggs!

We love seeing the smiles on both our younger and older Braves, and moments like these are just another great part of having all of our schools together on one campus.
Once a Brave, always a Brave!

Students have settled into their routines and learned lots of new things. We’ve started new traditions and continued some of the ones that make Logan Elm special: starting up another year of our Braves Brews Coffee Cart, cheering on our athletes, welcoming new staff members and students, and continuing to work together to make our schools better every day!
Here’s a look back at some of our favorite moments from the first month of school.

We are so proud of the Logan Elm Band of Pride, who got 2nd place! Their performance sounded amazing, and they represented Logan Elm well!
For the first time in four years, all 10 home school marching bands participated in the competition, making for an exciting day filled with great performances and lots of school spirit. Bands performed at three locations across the Pickaway-Ross campus for students and community members, and students voted at the end for their favorite bands.
It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the connection between our school, our community, and the Logan Elm students who attend Pickaway-Ross.
Great job, LE Band of Pride!

We’re looking forward to another great school year a Logan Elm!

We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing weekend!

Last night, we had the opportunity to celebrate and recognize the first responders who make such a difference in our communities and in our country.
Our volleyball players were asked to invite first responders in their lives to be recognized during the game, and it was so special to see so many people come out. Nurses, firefighters, paramedics, sheriffs, police officers, members of the military, and veterans were all recognized during the event.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the night so meaningful. Most importantly, thank you to all of our first responders for the work you do every day. We are grateful for you!

Students in 1st through 5th grade will spend a short amount of time each day working on their typing skills.
Typing is becoming more and more important for students. With school testing now being done on computers, we want our students to feel comfortable using a keyboard. It’s a skill they’ll continue to use throughout school and in future careers, so building those skills early is valuable.
We’re excited for our students more opportunities to improve their typing skills this year! Check out some photos below.

Logan Elm is excited to welcome our students, staff and community to one of our favorite new additions to campus!
Thanks to a grant written by Maddie Pontius, 3rd grade teacher at LE, and funding from the Logan Elm Education Foundation (LEEF), we now have 12 Story Walk boards placed along the walking path outside our building. The first board is located at the Logan Elm bench near the start of the path, outside the doors from our 1st and 2nd grade hallways. The last board is near the workout equipment by the tennis courts on campus.
Our reading specialists have put the first book in place, Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun. The story is all about having the courage to be yourself and being comfortable with who you are. This book will be up through September, and throughout the year, we will change the story so students and families can enjoy several different books along the path. We will share an update whenever a new story is put into place.
A big thank you to Maddie Pontius for bringing this idea to Logan Elm and to LEEF for helping make it possible!

These simulators give students the opportunity to learn and practice important driving skills before ever getting behind the wheel of a real car. Students can work on things like using turn signals, looking both ways before going, yielding to emergency vehicles, and more. They have already been loving the new addition!
Thank you so much to the Maxson Family Foundation, the Maria Tiberi Foundation, and the Logan Elm Education Foundation (LEEF), in collaboration with the district, for putting together the funds to make this learning opportunity possible. We are so grateful for the support of our students, their safety, and their futures.

"When the Missing Piece Finally Clicked" shares our district’s journey to identify instructional gaps, strengthen foundational reading skills and create a more consistent approach to literacy instruction across our elementary classrooms.
The article also highlights the impact teachers are seeing in their classrooms, from stronger reading and phonics skills to increased student confidence.
We’re so proud of the work our teachers and staff continue to do to help every student become a confident, successful reader!
